To this day I scratch my head over how brilliant minds like Danny Boyle and Alex Garland could have thought it was in any way a good idea to take the movie in this direction. It's as if Kubrick and Clarke had decided to end 2001: A Space Odyssey with a rousing shootout with a Cylon Basestar. I normally don’t listen to commentaries, but something compelled me to this time.
