I loved the creepy tone of this story and the very strong delivery by the reader. It felt like spoken word poetry with a gothic bent.

HP Lovecraft is the perfect choice for the 100th episode, I have listened to this podcast for over a year now and have loved every story, though words may not always come to me after some of them, they always keep me thinking. Lovecraft has never failed to leave me with a chill, no matter what the medium

and I agree with the other posters -- more White Street Society is needed!

Good choice. Nice read. Not one of my favorite Lovecraft’s but a solid little story.

No one will be seated in the theater during the “mute fellow takes an hour to write down his explanation” scene!

Thanks for listening.

“Life is painful and disappointing. It is useless, therefore, to write new realistic novels. We generally know where we stand in relation to reality and don’t care to know any more.” Michel Houellebecq, H.P. LOVECRAFT: AGAINST THE WORLD, AGAINST LIFE

Katy (and anyone else who's hearing sound quality issues): Does it sound bad during intros & outros, or during the story, or throughout?

I, too, could hear a few more tales from the "White Street Society". It was such a great story, lots of fun.

What is going on with the audio quality of Pseudopod? This used to be one of my favourite podcasts but I haven't been able to listen to aout the last five because they just sounded so shoddy. I don't know if it's something to do with Alisdair's recording equipment, because the recent story he narrated for Escape Pod, "Family Values", sounded a bit tinny too, though not as bad as the Pseudopod ones.... PLEASE sort it out....

I was going to say that I would have preferred if Al read the 100th story (I still listen to "Tales from the White Street Society" about twice a month just for S&Gs) then I checked EP and found he was reading that one. Works for me. I'm a fan of Lovecraft, and I dig that librivox.org has a bunch of his work. This was a pretty solid 100.

I have to say good choice for 100, when EP did Asimov for their 100, I was eagerly awaiting to see what Pseudopod would come up with as it counted down to this week. Must have pulled a few strings to get this, but very worth it...

Congrats on reaching 100, all of you. Seeing HP Lovecraft's name in the feed made me smile big time. Great story to bring it in, pretty fantastic reading, and possibly my favorite outro by Alasdair yet. Well done!
