Good story as far as horror goes, but I made the poor decision to listen to this without reading the description while trying to eat. That didn’t work out so well.

I shuddered when I heard the part about his leg being cut. And that part about the chained man’s description was hard to get through as well. I’m so hooked on that repulsed feeling, and I know you don’t just need blood and gore to get to it.

Well done, if a little short. I wanted to hear more about how Kyle’s head regenerated.

That was fabulous! I, too, like a good story about savagery that springs up in the middle of a “civilized” society. And I do think this is bona fide horror. There was a buildup and a definite payoff that had much more to do with the darkness within than the blood on the surface.

Also- I’m very glad I don’t have a basement.

yes, big heaping helping of horror. so elves make fantasy, rockets make SciFi… blood and gore doesnt make horror though does it, though a slasher film might be considered it… thinking this over [having gone and questioned the 'horror'ness of the previous 'Them Eyes' story] i think it has more t do with a particular sensation… go someplace one doesnt usually spend a lot of time, preferably at the bottom of some stairs.. and turn all the lights .. give it a lil time.. and imagine something reaching out from the dark, something clutching that shouldnt be there but you know is, wait for it to happen… thats horror.. horror is the waiting…. folowed by lots of screaming perhaps, but thats just to releave the stress.

i had to sit still in silence for a few minutes after that one to let it ‘digest’ That really had my mind spinning.

Well, I think it would be hard for someone to claim that this story isn't horror. It clearly has that gag factor and the gross out factor about it.

I always love a good story about a cannibal. I hear that there will shortly be a new Hannibal Lector movie, kind of the roots of Hannibal Lector or something like this.

Do you do movie reviews much the same way that Escape Pod does?
