I would have liked a great deal more if the corpse was giving him trouble and another purgatory story. That seems so old to me.

So this for me is a five out of ten; decent and almost good.

And no, it did not strike me as fun. But I am a hard nut to crack when it comes to that.

Jeez, looks like I’m going to play the spoiler this time by being the first commenter talkng about how much I disliked this story. It didn’t strike me as funny, or entertaining, or even amusing. I just… didn’t like anything about it.

Ironically, I though both of Mur’s points about the troubles with dark humor applied to this story. The humor felt forced (and wasn’t particularly funny), and the ridiculous parts were too ridiculous to take seriously. I also thought the narrative was weak. I didn’t feel I knew enough about the characters to care about them or what was happening to them (beyond what you feel for anyone that far gone, but again, that’s not funny). Parts of the story were obviously real, parts were fantasy, and parts were supernatural, but I’ll be darned if I could tell you what was what, the whole thing seemed a bit muddled in that regard.

Oh well, to each his own of course. I think this is the first Pseudopod story that I’ve actually disliked, so that’s a better batting average than even my favorite authors. I’ll be looking forward to the next story!

Wow, this was great! I loved it! Had me laughing, esp when the demon came and hit him over the head with the crowbar “now and then”. A lot better than the previous one. Thanks!

…a fun story, but is it horror? one expects a good horror story provoke a viceral reaction, a sense of fear, dread, nausea, that sort of thing, not just bad things happening to people.. that said i loved Steve Eley’s reading of it!… pleeease, use that voice from now on!

That was great. Really good story, and I really like Steve Eley’s reading on it.

I started listening to Pseudopod when it first started, and was bi-weekly, but then with school and everything found I didn’t have time to really devote to listening and all the stories started to pile up. So psyched to see it’s a weekly thing now.

Great story! I liked it better than Fetal Position. that was just distrubing.
