Mur read this so well. The best reading in a long while. I like her even better as a reader than host.

I really like that if the story calls for a woman, a woman reads the story and so. I know it seems very basic but it means a great. Thank you.

I watch a fair amount of gorey movies. I will say, I look away, and skip over bits that look as if they will be painful.

I am told some of the stories I have told are gorey. No matter what I write, it never bugs me, and in researching I rarely find something too over the top, but a movie... Fast forward. EWE.

I only care for gore where it is called for, just like sex, not every story needs them, so do.

Once again any story that has a since of place is richer than one that does not. Stories like this shows how we are basicaly a like, fear and pain, even if culture and goegraph, ect. pulls a part, under, we are the same.

Unless of course there is something... hidden.

I liked this one -- but I probably don't qualify as the "average" horror fan. I'm not big on gore (particularly gore being read aloud, because I can't skip over it), but I definitely like the creepy, the freaky, and the weird. Sometimes I skip Escape Pod stories because of that -- but this one is very listenable. Thanks!

Acutally, that was done on purpose. This is a selection from a larger scope featuring William White as the POV. He's teased a lot throughout the scope. It works--in context, but this chapter was in Delores Tsinnie's POV, not WWhite.

Hey, there's real people on the earth named White.

Y'know...naming the white guy, WHITE is kinda like hitting the reader over the head with a fucking frying pan...

Another great selection from Mur and Ben ... and another excellent reading. Nice tight little tale here, masterfully executed. This podcast is getting better and better by the week!

I didn't care for this one; in fact it actually lost my interest very early on.

Sure, the cross-cultural content had merit, but simply portraying a fascinating culture doesn't give the author a free pass for writing a tale with three thousand words or so before anything really happens. And yes, I realize we are given lots of pertinent information during this early-to-mid chunk of the tale, and I don't fault that, but it just didn't hook me in the marrow like other stories here have. Just my two cents.

Mur, I agree with past comments that your commentary is a lot better when you just relax and open up a bit, as you do on some of the other 'casts you work on. With this tale, it felt forced, like you were trying too hard to be witty and clever. Just be yourself.
