Flash: Waiting Up for Father

By Greg van Eekhout.

Read by Jonathan M. Chaffin, and put to music by Instant Ambient (a side project of The Secret Life).

Jars line shelves like delicacies in a shop.

Hands clutch brown water.

Eyes and ears and tongues bob lazily in their containers.

Testicles lie shriveled against cold glass.

I have seen these things many times in many ways.

I’ve never been this excited about a podcast. I’ve never even read horror shorts, yet I’m way too excited about pseudopod. I haven’t even listened to the story yet. Gonna go do that.

This was good–there aren’t enough stories out there told from the Monster’s perspective, and none that I know of done in a flash piece. Very well done.

It never seems like we will ever be able to stop coming to this tale of man and God and monster.

I thought this one rocked.

A smile rose as it dawned on me what the tale was about.

I have a bad case of tale envy…
